Course description

This registration is for 6th - 8th grade teachers, support personnel, and leaders only.

This Kansas Math Project (KMP) training will prepare participants with evidence-based teaching practices and deepen their understanding of math content. Participants will engage in foundation modules that begin with the belief that all students can learn mathematics. These modules will be followed by a coherent understanding of the progressions that lead to long-term proficiency. In addition, participants will gain an understanding of an  explicit and systematic approach to mathematics instruction. They will also utilize data analysis to drive instruction and intervention. Day 2 will provide a number of grade-band-specific modules that provide participants with resources to help students improve their understanding, language, fluency, and problem-solving skills.

The project is a collaboration between the Kansas State Department of Education, Kansas MTSS & Alignment, Dr. Sarah Powell, and Dr. Bradley Witzel. In addition, hundreds of educators across Kansas providedfeedback and review throughout the developmental process. KMP is an exciting initiative and valuable professional learning opportunity for Kansas teachers.

* If registration is full, email Krystal@kansasmtss.org to be placed on a waiting list.
