Course description
During this webinar Dr. Susan Swearer from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln will discuss the current state of bullying in schools for students with disabilities, along with effective prevention and intervention programs. She will also discuss bullying as it relates to individuals on the autism spectrum.
Dr. Swearer is the co-author of "Bullying Prevention and Intervention: Realistic Strategies for Schools" and co-editor of the books, "Handbook of Bullying in Schools: An International Perspective" and "Bullying in North American Schools". She was an invited presenter at the White House Bullying Prevention Conference in 2011.
She is the co-director of the Bullying Research Network (http://brnet.unl.edu); the Director of the Empowerment Initiative (http://empowerment.unl.edu); and chair of the Research Advisory Board for Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.
