Participants in teams of 2 to 5 professions will work collaboratively as a professional learning community (PLC). Teams will meet for four online sessions and three online coaching sessions. The PLC will focus on supporting a target student who struggles with reading due to fluency or difficulties decoding but generally has good comprehension.
Teams will work together to select appropriate digital text (text to speech) tools for the target student and/or students in their district to support reading. The teams will explore how to access digital text (DT) materials such as Infinitext and other online resources to support their students.
During the series, teams will have time for hands-on experiences to learn about and gain confidence in using technology tools. Participants will also learn about other digital text tools which are online, apps for iPads, and stand-alone tools to support reading. Be prepared to learn about many assistive technology options and features to support your students.
