Join fellow school resource officers for an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders, information about the de-escalation cycle and the most effective strategies for intervention.

This virtual  4-hour session will include opportunities for interaction and discussion.

Learning Objectives

  • understand the triad of characteristics in Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • understand how these characteristics may impact students in school settings
  • create an action plan to respond to the escalation cycle 
  • analyze and recommend effective strategies used for de-escalation interventions in a school setting 
  • write a goal and plan for reflection and collaboration on implementation of the goal
