Course description

Snap&Read by Don Johnston is a Universal Support tool designed to support all students.

Our classrooms are full of students with different strengths, talents, and abilities. Each student is unique in how they learn best. Providing universal support tools to all general education students promotes inclusion and independence. Some students may require access to text by listening to information, some may prefer listening to content material to gain access to information and some may require materials presented in their preferred language. The Don Johnston tool Snap&Read has many features as a universal support tool that could remove environmental barriers to support each and every student in your class.

Don Johnston's Learning Suite empowers students to use technology to eliminate barriers to their learning.  Students with the tools can remove distractions from busy websites, use study tools like closed captioning and outlines, as well as provide text-to-speech for websites and the tool provides a built-in PDF reader.   According to the CAST Universal Design for Learning Framework all students benefit from Multiple Means of Representation, choice, and options. During the second session, participants will analyze classroom and individual student Snap&Read data to understand how this data can drive your instruction.
