Course description

Learn what the Language Assessment Program for Students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (LAP-DHH) is all about and what the data says about language achievement of deaf/hard of hearing children in Kansas.  This event will be led by Angie Walker, LAP-DHH Coordinator, and Jena McDaniel, Lead Researcher from Vanderbilt University.  Meeting venue will be at the Kansas School for the Deaf Emery Elementary Building.  Doors will open at 8:30 am for check-in, workshop begins at 9:00 am.  Kansas Instructors for the Deaf (KID) will have an organizational meeting after the workshop from 3:00-4:00 pm.

Participants will learn

  • How and why the LAP-DHH was established in Kansas
  • What is the plan of implementation for LAP-DHH
  • Which students are required to be assessed in the LAP-DHH
  • Who is responsible for conducting assessments and monitoring student achievement
  • What data says about the language milestones achievement of deaf/hard of hearing children in Kansas

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
