Course description

Kansans Can Competency Framework

This virtual training and follow-up coaching event is designed for elementary educators, counselors, and social workers to better understand instructional activities to teach self-regulation, either in core content or other applicable areas. You will gain knowledge and resources to apply self-regulation practices in the elementary school setting. After you register, the online link and password will be viewable under Details for Meeting Online.

In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must also attend the follow-up coaching session on March 8 from 8:30 to 9:30 am. If you would like to inquire about earning one graduate credit for attending the training and coaching session, implementing instruction, and reflecting, contact pnoonan@ku.edu for additional details.

Learning Objectives

Educators will be able to:

  1. Describe the key components of self-regulation.

  2. Assess student self-regulation knowledge and skill using performance-based assessment techniques.

  3. Analyze self-regulation instructional activities, and plan application to promote students’ self-efficacy within your course content or setting.

  4. Prepare to teach and provide feedback to students on performance related to self-regulation.

Refund Policy

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
