This online workshop and follow-up coaching event is designed for middle and high school educators, counselors and social workers. Participants will explore and practice instructional activities from the book, Teaching self-regulation: Seventy-five instructional activities to foster independent, proactive students, Grades 6–12 (Gaumer Erickson & Noonan, 2022), which will be mailed to you prior to the training. After you register, the online link and password will be viewable under Details for Meeting Online.
In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must also use the same Zoom information to attend the follow-up coaching session with Jill Thompson on November 18 from 8:30 to 9:30 am. If you would like to inquire about earning one graduate credit for attending the training and coaching session, implementing instruction and reflecting, contact pnoonan@ku.edu for additional details.
Educators will be able to:
Describe the key components of self-regulation.
Assess student self-regulation knowledge and skill using curriculum-referenced and performance-based assessment techniques.
Analyze self-regulation instructional activities, and plan application to promote students’ self-regulation within your course content or setting.
Prepare to teach and provide feedback to students on performance related to self-regulation.
Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
