Intertwine of Classroom Instruction and Management

Presentation by Dr. Randy Sprick and Dr. Anita Archer at the 2015 Kansas MTSS Symposium. Effective instruction and classroom management practices are so intertwined as to be interdependent. Every instructional decision requires attention to management consequences. Effective management practices set the state for quality instruction while quality instruction in turn significantly reduces management challenges. This presentation discusses the interrelationship between instruction and management in which both require systemic preparation, relentless application of evidence-based practices, engaging connections between teacher, students and content, and creation of a positive learning environment.
