Assessing Motor Imitation with Objects

This data sheet can be used to assess a learner’s ability to imitate actions with objects when given a model and verbal cue (e.g., “Do this”). By recording whether the student imitates independently or requires prompting, teams can identify current imitation skills, determine readiness for teaching through modeling, and guide next steps for building play, learning, and communication skills.
