The underrepresentation of certain ethnic subgroups and low socioeconomic status (SES) populations in programs for students who are gifted has long been known to be an issue based on national statistics, and Kansas data are similar.  This document provides recommendations from the research for the appropriate identification of students who are members of those underrepresented populations.
