More than 10 years ago, InfiniTEXT was a program developed by UCP of Greater Chicago/Infinitec in partnership with KSDE to assist districts in meeting the mandate to have accessible educational materials available for qualifying students in a timely and efficient manner. Over the last several years, OSEPS has heavily invested in a national service, Bookshare, to provide student solutions for readily available and accessible educational materials (AEM). While Infinitext provided a powerful and interim response to the need for AEM in this past decade, today Infinitec and KSDE will sunset Infinitext on September 15th. Infinitec will focus on providing professional learning to Kansas staff to increase student access to federally funded resources for AEM like BookShare as well as the many other companies providing digital and audio options for text e.g. Learning Ally, EPIC, Newsela, etc.
