Tips for Administering the Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (PAR): Making decisions for Reading Accommodations

Course description

This webinar will provide participants with tips for administering and interpreting the Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (PAR) for students who benefit from read aloud accommodations in order to access their grade level curriculum. This session will provide information to assist districts as they make reading accommodations decisions for students with disabilities and consider whether these students may need text-to-speech for ELA passages on the Kansas Assessment Program (KAP).

Learning Objectives

Participants will 

1. learn the requirements for obtaining text-to-speech for ELA passages for students
2. review the three steps of the PAR process
3. identify resources for obtaining accessible instructional materials or digital text
