About the Access for ALL PLC

Access for ALL PLC is an interactive training focused on integrating technology within Universal Design for Learning educational framework within an inclusive classroom. Anyone is welcome to participate in the PLC training, if you would like to have a team participate in the PLC with coaching support, please contact Cindy Malone at cmalone@ucpnet.org. See the Access for ALL PLC Description document for more information about the overall structure, goals, objectives, and timeline.

This session is designed to introduce teams to the goals, activities, and expected outcomes for the Access for ALL PLC.

Prepare for Learning Before the Session

Prior to the meeting, convene your team to discuss Universal Design for Learning (UDL) concepts and your goals and expectations for participation in the PLC.  Prepare for learning by reading What Does UDL look like? by Novak Education or watching UDL at a Glance by CAST.  You can also begin to explore the resources in the Access for ALL PLC Description document.  We will be using Flipgrid to capture personal and team reflections, please create a free account prior to the August meeting. 

Follow-Up After the Session

Personal Introductions and Reflection

After participating in the professional learning community session take a moment to add a personal introduction. Include your name, district, role (teacher, SLP, etc), and why you are excited about the Access for All project, what you are hoping to learn, and also comment on three postings by colleagues who are not on your team.  Post your introduction on the Flipgrid Introduction and Whys board or email Cindy Malone at cmalone@ucpnet.org

Baseline Data Collection and Team Reflection

The Team Liaison will organize a team meeting to meeting to complete a UDL baseline self-assessment and complete the Access for All goal-setting document. After the necessary forms are completed, the Liaison will coordinate a team reflection to post on the Flipgrid Reflection board or email Cindy Malone at cmalone@ucpnet.org

Schedule a one-on-one coaching session with Cindy Malone (her calendly schedule) or Janet Peters (her calendly schedule). Email Cindy cmalone@ucpnet.org or Janet jpeters@ucpnet.org  with any questions. 

 

 

 

 

Learning Objectives

Session learning targets:

  • Establish norms for communication and interaction
  • Understand the expectations for participation in the Access for All Project
  • Learn how to navigate Access for All content and Materials in the Google Drive
  • Create Flipgrid video reflections required for the PLC 
  • Evaluate how the PLC work supports other initiatives in the district, cooperative, and/or across the state

Project learning targets: 

  • Learn about and understand the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Framework 
  • Evaluate universal support tools to extend and enhance UDL implementation 
  • Create UDL lessons and activities to integrate the 3 principles of UDL in classroom settings 
  • Engage Students in the language and purpose of UDL

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
