Course description

Join Kansas Infinitec for an online collaborative book study using Dr. Katie Novak’s book UDL Now! A Teacher's Guide to Applying Universal Design for Learning in Today’s Classrooms Revised & Expanded Edition. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework to support educators in designing classroom instruction that gives all individuals equal opportunities to learn. By following UDL guidelines, teachers can meet the needs of a diverse student population and extend learning opportunities to all students.

During the book study, participants will read the associated chapters, discuss and consider the reflection questions at the end of the chapter, and/or choose one of the resources provided by facilitators to further explore and put learning into practice. As Dr. Novak shares in her book “Think of this period like The Biggest Loser weigh-in.  The weigh-ins are all about collective efficacy. Participants don't want to let their teammates down.  They're in it together. By the same token, as you share with your colleagues, you will want to share stories about the frustrations and celebrations of becoming a UDL pro, and this will also make you accountable. Also, there will be people there to celebrate your small successes.” Join us to dive into UDL Now! together.
