Choice not only engages students, but it increases student motivation and value in their own learning. Choice assignments, scaffolding, and options for access allow students to engage more independently on classroom assignments and assessments. Join the Pike Valley team as they share ways in which they have used the Universal Design for Learning Guidelines of Action and Expression to support strategic and goal-directed learners. As Katie Novak, author of UDL Now! explains, "providing students with options to express their learning allows them to build career and life skills and innovative skills."
