Speech Language Pathologists, Behavior Analysts and Educators provide treatment for individuals with a variety of developmental disabilities, including autism. Concerns with scope of practice, encroachment, and knowing how to work with other professionals has become evident in practice and on social media. Differences in theoretical perspectives and intervention strategies provide insight into differing intervention models. Strategies for interprofessional practice, guidance from our governing Practice Boards, and tips for working with other disciplines will be highlighted.

Dr. Teresa Cardon is a dually certified SLP & a BCBA-D and has worked with individuals on the autism spectrum for over 25 years. Dr. Cardon is an Associate Professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her research interests include video modeling, interprofessional practice, autism in the media, and collaboration bias. Dr. Cardon publishes and presents both nationally and internationally and enjoys supporting educators and clinicians who work with unique populations.
