Course description

Webinar Description:

Speech Language Pathologists, Behavior Analysts and Educators provide treatment for individuals with a variety of developmental disabilities, including autism. Concerns with scope of practice, encroachment, and knowing how to work with other professionals has become evident in practice and on social media. Differences in theoretical perspectives and intervention strategies provide insight into differing intervention models. Strategies for interprofessional practice, guidance from our governing Practice Boards, and tips for working with other disciplines will be highlighted.

Learning Objectives

After attending this webinar participants will:

  1. Identify theories of language development from varying perspectives
  2. Identify and discuss collaboration bias and strategies for effective interprofessional practice
  3. Identify collaborative strategies to support communication development in young children with autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities
  4. Assess your own collaboration bias and identify three ways to better collaborate with colleagues.
