Join Kansas educators and related service providers working individually or in transition teams to collaborate and demonstrate understanding and implementation of transition services that support postsecondary outcomes. Participants will learn how to identify, explore and access community supports and, with a student in mind, will be provided an opportunity to create an implementation plan that links student education, family engagement and communtiy supports. Middle school, high school and postsecondary teachers, transition specialists and coordinators, administrators, parents, related service providers, and paraprofessional staff are encouraged to attend.
Day 1 - During this in-person training, participants will design a plan to access community supports and will return to their practice to implement this plan. Follow-up to this training will include:
Day 2: A 1-hour virtual on-line meeting via Zoom to share outcomes and reflections with colleagues (April 3)
Upon completion of the in-person traing, coaching conversation, and 1-hour virtual meeting, participants will be awarded 6 hours of continuing education certificate.
*This training is approved for 6 continuing education clock hours for Kansas licensed Speech-Language Pathologists by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
