This course is designed for any Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist, especially those who are new to the field or feeling like they need a refresh on conducting an O&M Evaluation.
Lunch will not be provided, but we will have a break. Refrigerators and microwaves are available for use if you choose to bring a lunch. A group Chipotle order will also be available for delivery, cash or Venmo accepted.
Dorm space is available the night before if needed due to travel distance. Please contact Kylie Kilmer (kkilmer@kssdb.org) No later than January 15, 2023 to reserve a room. Due to limited space, it is expected that rooms will need to be shared.
1. Explore different assessment tools used in the field of Orientation and Mobility, and select tools that are appropriate for the student being assessed.
2. Use data-supported methods to determine eligibility and service time for Orientation and Mobility services.
3. Practice assessing skills of students at various ages and developmental levels.
4. Practice uniform report writing, including medical/vision history, observable skills, eligibility statement, and recommendations.
Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
