Every day, in classrooms from early childhood through high school, behaviors occur that interfere with desired academic and social outcomes. On close examination, however, these behaviors could actually be the result of social competencies that are not developed, taught, mastered, and demonstrated.
Teaching, practicing, modeling, and encouraging essential personal life habits that are universally understood as making people good human beings and citizens is a Kansans Can outcome. Learn to support social competencies for all students by using a process that includes assessment, planning, and implementing evidence-based strategies at school, at home, and in the community.
During this virtual session, participants will share information and outcomes resulting from their implementation of the plan created in the first day of this training. Each participant will share a PowerPoint outlining their plan and its results and answer questions from their colleagues. NOTE: Your PowerPoint, created using the template in the materials section of the registration page, should be submitted via email to Gail Ferguson by January 4. 2019.
