Course description

Training opportunity available for administrators, reading specialists, and Pre-K through third grade teachers on phonemic awareness, phonics, and the science of reading. Please plan to attend this interactive session to learn more about the Kansas English Language Arts Reading Foundational Skills state standards and how to connect these standards to the importance of explicit instruction in phonemic awareness and phonics. This session will also include information on the science of reading and how the child's brain develops for reading acquisition. In this session, there will be a variety of instructional strategies that can be implemented in the classroom to improve core reading instruction.
