If we are to reach this goal there is much work to be done. Kansans are demanding higher levels of academic and cognitive preparation, better technical and employability skills, and students who are civically engaged before leaving high school. This new vision for education calls for a more student-focused approach that provides support and resources for individual success and will require collaboration not just among educators but also among communities and local businesses. It is time to commit ourselves to the task of giving kids all of the tools they need to be successful.
The theme for this year’s Impact Institutes is “Kansans CAN Teach.” Please join us at the Kansas State Department of Education Division of Learning Services 2018 Impact Institutes and begin the challenging work of each child’s success. Kansas teachers, counselors, principals, curriculum coordinators, instructional coaches, and educational professionals at all levels (birth through high school) will have the opportunity to select sessions and workshops on topics connected to many academic areas. These workshops will provide the help you need in providing our students the academic and cognitive preparation, the technical and employability skills, and the civic engagement opportunities to allow them to be successful.
Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
