Course description
Mathematics is a second language for all learners with added complexity for English learners. Vocabulary and concepts are intertwined in mathematics. Instruction that capitalizes on this relationship maximizes learning opportunities for all students. Activities, research, and classroom experiences are shared along with handouts that include examples and templates.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize how to make vocabulary instruction within math lessons is an integral part of learning math.
- Learning many of the language specific challenges with math that are obstacles for all learners including English learners.
- Learning techniques for overcoming these obstacles that lead to integrating meaningful vocabulary instruction.

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
