Course description

Kansans Can Competency Framework

This in-person workshop is designed for upper elementary through high school educators. Participants will explore and practice instructional activities from the book, Teaching self-regulation: Seventy-five instructional activities to foster independent, proactive students, Grades 6-12 (Gaumer Erickson & Noonan, 2022). 

This workshop will be held at the Topeka Public Libary on August 3rd (9:00–4:00). A lunch break will be provided. 

Learning Objectives

Educators will be able to:

  1. Describe the key components of self-regulation.

  2. Assess student self-regulation knowledge and skill using curriculum-reference and performance-based assessment techniques.

  3. Analyze self-regulation instructional activities, and plan application to promote students’ self-regulation within your course content or setting.

  4. Prepare to teach and provide feedback to students on performance related to self-regulation.

Refund Policy

Registration may be cancelled up to 14 days prior to the event for a full refund. Cancellations received within 14 days of the event will not be refunded. No-show registrations will also not be refunded.
